Narendra Chara Bajra-3 /NDFB-3
The Central Sub-Committee on Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties, New Delhi (CVRC), released and notified this variety in 2011 after it was created via the mass selection breeding technique. In the states of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, the single cut technique has been advised for cultivation during the Kharif and Zaid seasons on normal and salt-affected soils.
Narendra Chara Bajra-3 /NDFB-3 is a fodder bajra variety with medium duration of maturity, tall and erect plant type, broad and dark green leaves, high grain yield (18-20 q/ha) with green biomass (normal soil-380-440 q/ha & salt affected soils-300-320q/ha); dry matter yield (normal soil-110-120q/ha and salt affected soils-70-100q/ha); crude protein yield (8.5-9.2 q/ha); crude protein content 8.
Narendra Chara Bajra-3 /NDFB-3 is superior to the check variants Raj Bajracharya-2 and Giant Bajra in the North Eastern Plain Zone and is proven to be fairly resistant to ergot, smut, and green ear diseases, as well as stem borer insects. Dr. D. N. Vishwakarma, Dr. C. N. Ram, and their team of scientists and research staff worked to produce this kind.
